The Testament of Dr. Mabuse (English)

...In the chaotic and decadent society of Germany after World War I, Dr. Mabuse, a psychologist who skillfully uses hypnotism and metamorphosis to manipulate a powerful organization and control the dark world, is driven to the brink and discovered to be insane. He is, so to speak, in the same vein as "Dr. Caligari," and is said to have already been carrying the image of Hitler, and has even been described as anticipating Hitler's theory of "Mein Kampf," which says that the larger a crime is, the more successful it is. The sequel to the talkie, "The Testament of Dr. Mabuse" (1932), which clearly creates a double image of Mabuse and Hitler, became the first film banned by the Nazis. The film adaptation of the Mabuse story, Die tausend Augen des Dr. Mabuse (1960), was Lang's last directorial work before he returned to Germany after his Hollywood days.
