Sakanoshita Ruins - Sakanoshita Ruins

Japanese: 坂の下遺跡 - さかのしたいせき

This site dates back to the middle to late Jomon period and is located under the so-called "Slope" in Oki Yamamoto, Nishiarita-cho, Nishi Matsuura-gun, Saga Prefecture. It is located on an alluvial fan formed by the Jogenji River and Kuwagihara River at the eastern foot of Mount Kunimi. Surveys were conducted in 1967, 1970, and 1974, and 21 storage pits were discovered. The pits are irregularly circular, about 1m in diameter, and excavated to a depth of about 70cm down to the spring water layer. The inside is lined with clay, and the area is covered with tree branches and leaves, inside which large quantities of nuts from trees such as yew, glauca, and false chanchin were stored, and the top appears to have been covered with wood, stones, and clay.

佐賀県西松浦郡西有田町大木字山本の通称坂の下にある縄文時代中期～後期の遺跡。国見山東麓の浄源寺川，桑木原川によって形成された扇状地上にある。1967年，70年，74年に調査され，21個の貯蔵穴が集中して検出された。貯蔵穴は，径1m前後の不整円形をなし，70cm前後の深さで湧水層まで掘り込まれている。内面には粘土を貼り，木枝，木の葉を敷きつめた中にイチイガシ，アラカシ，チャンチンモドキなどの木の実が多量に貯蔵され，上部は木材，石，粘土で覆われていたようすを示す。
