Auerbach's plexus

Auerbach's plexus
Also called the myenteric plexus. A general term for the network of autonomic nerve fibers and ganglion cells located between the outer longitudinal muscle and inner circular muscle of the digestive tract. It controls the movement of smooth muscle and regulates peristalsis.
