The national airline of Italy, based in Rome. Its airline code is AZ. It is one of the world's leading airlines, operating both international and domestic flights, and is one of the world's top ten international airlines. Its route network covers almost the entire world, with flights to major cities in Europe, North and South America, the Middle East, Oceania, and Southeast Asia. It has been flying to Japan since 1962. It was founded in 1946 and began operations the following year.
