The law (1947) stipulates the grounds for impeachment, the composition and prosecution of the Judicial Indictment Committee, the composition and trial procedures of the Impeachment Court, etc. It was enacted based on the fact that the current Constitution has adopted a system of impeachment for judges, and while it guarantees the status of judges in order to ensure the independence of the judiciary, it also provides that they may be removed by public impeachment (Articles 64 and 78 of the Constitution).

裁判官の弾劾について定めた法律（1947年）。弾劾の事由，裁判官訴追委員会の構成・訴追，弾劾裁判所の構成・裁判手続などを規定する。現行憲法が裁判官の弾劾制度を採り入れ，司法権の独立のため裁判官の身分を保障しつつも，公の弾劾により罷免し得る（憲法64，78条）としたことに基づいて制定された。
