Corn flakes
An instant food primarily for breakfast. It is a thin rice cracker shaped snack about 1-2cm in diameter, served with milk and sugar. It is made by grinding corn kernels, soaking them in a liquid containing sucrose and salt, then drying and roasting them. Many of them are further flavored with seasonings, or contain added vitamin B1 , niacin, iron, etc.

主として朝食用のインスタント食品。直径1~2cm程度の薄いセンベイ状で,牛乳,砂糖などを掛けて供する。とうもろこしの穀粒をひき割りし,ショ糖,食塩などを含む液に漬けたのち,これを乾燥,焙焼してつくる。さらに調味料を加えて味をつけたり,ビタミン B1 ,ナイアシン,鉄分などを添加したものが多い。
