Located in the Urasenke tea house in Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto, this is the tea house that represents the family. It is a two-tatami tea house built by Sotan in 1646 (Shoho 3) in his retirement home, and in April 1649 (Keian 2), Matsuya Hisashige, who was invited to Sotan's tea house, wrote that "The two-tatami room of the retirement home is one and a half tatami mats, and the rest is wooden tatami mats. There is a central pillar, but there are no cutouts." This tea house, which has a central pillar and a side wall surrounding the front board, is clearly the same as the current Konnichi-an. A front board was placed in place of a toko beyond the temae tatami mat, and a mizuya doko, which is like a miniature version of the mizuya shelf in the kitchen, was added, and various functions were neatly concentrated in a two-tatami space. Regarding the mukoita, Kawakami Fuhaku said, "It is favored as a substitute for a floor in a small wabi room where even a floor is not placed." The ceiling structure, which is a single-slope all-roofed attic, is also an expression that shows the ultimate wabi design. The tea room from the time of Sotan was destroyed in the Great Fire of Tenmei in 1788 (Tenmei 8), and the current tea room is said to have been rebuilt immediately after that.
