A code of maritime law for the Mediterranean region compiled and published in Barcelona, Spain, in the 13th or 14th century. Cities along the Mediterranean coast of Spain, southern France, and Italy, such as Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, and Pisa, have long been bustling areas for maritime commerce, and customary law regarding maritime commerce gradually developed among merchants. The Consolato del Mare is a written compilation of this customary law. It was first written in Catalan, the regional language of Spain, but was later translated into various languages and widely used by merchants engaged in maritime commerce in the Mediterranean region.

13世紀ないし14世紀に，スペインのバルセロナで編集･出版された地中海沿岸地域の海商法の法典。バルセロナ，マルセイユ，ジェノバ，ピサなどのスペイン，南フランス，イタリアの地中海沿岸の諸都市は，古くから海上通商の盛んなところで，商人たちの間では，しだいに海上通商に関する慣習法が形成されていった。コンソラート･デル･マーレは，この慣習法を文書にまとめたものである。最初は，スペインの地方語であるカタルニャ語で書かれたが，のちにさまざまの言葉に訳され，地中海地域の海上通商に従事する商人たちによって広く利用された。
