Born March 24, 1822. Son of Arima Yorinori. In 1830, he succeeded his father and became the 10th head of the Arima clan, lord of Kurume Domain in Chikugo (Fukuoka Prefecture). In preparation for the arrival of foreign ships, he called for great frugality in order to prepare for military preparations, had his retainers learn Western artillery in Edo, and promoted military reform. He died July 3, 1840. He was 25 years old. His pen names were Kiminari and Yukisen. His pen names included Kinshisai and Shikansai. His collection of poems and prose is "Shikansai's Writings."
