A tiny insect in the order Psocoptera and family Liposcelidae. Approximately 1mm long. Its body is light brown. It is generally flattened with a particularly large head, and it has long, thread-like antennae that extend forward. It has no compound eyes, but has a group of small eyes. The base of its hind legs is wide and triangular. It is a fast walker. It lives in humid, dark houses, and feeds on stored foods and fungi. It is also called booklice, as it chews on the glue in books.
