Also known as the "principle of sufficient reason," the "principle of sufficient ground," or the "principle of reason," in English, it is a logical and metaphysical principle established by Leibniz along with the law of contradiction. It supports the truth of empirical knowledge, and states that "for things to exist, events to occur, and truth to exist, there must be sufficient grounds."
