Gaurisankar [Mountain] - Gaurisankar
A high peak in the eastern Himalayas on the border between Nepal and China. 55 km west of Qomolangma. 7,146 m above sea level. For nearly 20 years since 1855, it was believed to be the highest peak in the world. The name means "highest peak in the world" in Nepalese. In 1951, a British team discovered footprints of a yeti (abominable snowman).
