A representative Iranian architect of the period under Shah Rukh, the third Timurid ruler. Born in Shiraz. In 1418 he built the Gohar Shad Mosque in Mashhad, and in 1430 he began construction of a madrassa (school) in Khaligird (east of Gonabad in eastern Iran), but died midway through the project. He is also said to have begun the construction of the group of religious buildings in Herat, centered around the mausoleum of Gohar Shad. [Kato Kazuhide]

ティムール朝第3代シャー･ルフ時代を代表するイランの建築家。シーラーズ生れ。1418年にマシュハドにゴウハル･シャード･モスクを建て，30年にはハルギルド(イラン東部ゴナーバードの東)のマドラサ(学院)建築に着手したが，途中で没した。ヘラートのゴウハル･シャードの霊廟を中心とする宗教建築群の建造も，彼が着手したものとされる。【加藤和秀】
