〘 noun 〙 A place to serve as a base. A place to rely on. Also, a place with facilities for repairs, rest, supplies, etc. for the military. ※Hototogi (1898-99)〈Tokutomi Roka〉 Vol. 2 "We chose a quiet inn by the river and decided to make this our base (konkyochi) ."
