Colorum (English spelling)

Japanese: コロルム（英語表記）Colorum

A name given by outsiders to a millennialist social movement that arose in the Philippines mainly in the 1920s and 1930s. The term dates back to an alternate name for the San Jose Congregation, which de la Cruz founded in the early 19th century. However, there is no direct connection between the 20th century Collorum movement and the San Jose Congregation. In the 1920s and 1930s, Collorum rebellions occurred one after another throughout the Philippines, from the Surigao region of Mindanao to the Visayas and the provinces of Luzon. Although there was no organizational cooperation between these Collorums, they shared several common characteristics, including:
