This is one of the reform movements in school education, also known as community-centered schools or community-centered schools. It was theorized and actively developed in the United States from the 1920s onwards, especially in the 1930s, but historically it was based on reflection on the fact that child-centered schools, as opposed to traditional subject-centered schools, placed too much emphasis on children's interests and concerns, which led to a tendency for them to become detached from daily life, especially that of the community. In this movement, schools were seen as educational and cultural centers for the local community, and emphasis was placed on the connection between the local community and the school, such as by conducting local educational surveys and planning, and creating school education curricula based on the results of those surveys.
