Community Sports

Japanese:
Community Sports
It can be thought of as a general term for the form of existence of sports that is based on local communities such as cities, towns, and villages, has a certain degree of regional spread that has arisen through sports, and is supported by comradeship. In Japan, the term "community sports" began to be emphasized in the mid-1960s, when the collapse of local communities became evident due to the progress of urbanization and the phenomenon of mass socialization. Until then, sports tended to be played mainly at schools and workplaces. However, with people having more time and money to spare, and changing lifestyles that seek fun and meaning in life, there has been a growing tendency to enjoy sports with family and close friends in places close to home.
