Japanese: 五戸[町] - ごのへ

A town in Sannohe County, southeast of Aomori Prefecture, bordering Hachinohe City to the west. The central settlement is along the Gonohe River, and developed as a post station on the Riku Kaido road. In addition to rice cultivation, field crops, livestock farming, and fruit cultivation are carried out, producing apples, Chinese yams, and other produce. There is the Aichi Prefectural Agriculture and Forestry Research Center and the Southern Aichi Fruit Tree Research Center, an apple experimental station. Poultry farming is also thriving. In July 2004, Kuraishi Village, Sannohe County, was incorporated into the town. The town sustained damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. 177.67 ^km2 . 18,712 people (2010).

青森県南東部，八戸(はちのへ)市の西に接する三戸(さんのへ)郡の町。中心集落は五戸川に沿い，陸羽(りくう)街道の宿駅として発達。稲作のほか，畑作，畜産，果樹栽培が行われ，リンゴ，ナガイモなどを産する。県農林総合研究センター及びりんご試験場県南果樹研究センターがある。養鶏も盛ん。2004年７月，三戸郡倉石村を編入。東日本大震災で，町内において被害が発生。177.67km²。１万8712人（2010）。
