〘名〙① 文書で、「一、何々之事」と箇条を立てて書くこと。また、その体裁で書かれた文書。箇条書。※殿暦‐長治二年(1105)八月一三日「ことかきに可書之由仰内記了」② 法令をいう。※吾妻鏡‐文応元年(1260)正月二三日「可遏殺罪輩之由、有其沙汰。被事書云々」③ 古文書学の用語。公文書で、本文の前にあって本文の主旨を要約し、「何々事」と記載してある見出し部分。④ 「ひきつけかんろくことがき(引付勘録事書)」の略。※高野山文書‐正応五年(1292)正月一五日・太田庄文書申出目録「為御引付成敗之間、不取捨勘録〈略〉三十一ケ条事書一通に続合之て任御評定之旨」⑤ 中世、寺院の衆徒などが合議の意志を箇条書にして上級権力者に提出した文書。※東大寺文書‐第一回採訪四・建武二年(1335)一〇月二二日・東大寺衆徒群議事書草案「東大寺衆徒僉議事書」⑥ 和歌の前に添える、歌の題や趣旨を書いた文。詞書。※吾妻鏡‐建暦二年(1212)一〇月一一日「古今事書者、文屋康秀為参河下向、出立于県見哉之由、誘引小野小町云々」※太平記(14C後)三三「新千載集を撰ばれけるに、委細の事書を載せられて」⑦ 文中に施す注釈。※玉塵抄(1563)三三「取具臨時はそばに細字にことがきあり」
