Goshuui Ojoden - Goshuui Ojoden

Goshuui Ojoden - Goshuui Ojoden
Compiled by Miyoshi Tameyasu. After the completion of Shui Ojoden, this work was a collection of omitted passages, and was expanded and continued to be written until Tameyasu's death in 1139 (5th year of the Hōen era). It contains records of 75 deceased people (73 if duplicates are excluded). Compared to Shui Ojoden, there are fewer records from previous documents, and more from the author's own hearsay, with 54 people being from the same era. There is little change in the characteristics of the deceased, but the number of laypeople listed has increased to 33, with many of them living in rural areas, and the inclusion of Ryonin and other nembutsu practitioners at Ohara Bessho and the nembutsu group at Shitennoji Temple, showing new trends in Pure Land Buddhism during the Insei period.
