Italian actor. Known by his stage name Carlino, he was the most famous Arlecchino actor of the 18th century. At the age of three, his father, an officer in the army of Duke Amedeo II of Savoy, died, and at the age of 14 he joined the army, but he disliked military life and aspired to become an actor. He first appeared in small private theaters in Italy, and later in large theaters, gradually gaining fame as an Arlecchino actor. In 1741, he was invited by an Italian theater company in Paris to take the place of Antonio Costantini, who had already become boring to the audience.

イタリアの俳優。芸名カルリーノで親しまれた18世紀で最も有名なアルレッキーノ役者。3歳でサボイア公アメデオ2世軍の将校であった父を亡くし，14歳にして軍隊に入るが，軍隊生活を嫌い役者を志した。まず国内の私設小劇場，後に大劇場に出演し，アルレッキーノ役者としての名声をしだいに得ていった。1741年パリのイタリア人劇団に請われてその地に赴き，当時すでに観客に飽きられたアントニオ･コスタンチーニの代役となった。
