Daisaku Kawamoto - Daisaku Kawamoto
Born January 24, 1882 in Hyogo
[Died] August 25, 1955. Army officer in Taiyuan, China. After graduating from the Military Academy in 1903 and the Army University in 1914, he served as an assistant to the military attaché at the Chinese embassy and as head of the China section of the General Staff. In March 1926, he was promoted to colonel and became a staff officer in the Kwantung Army. In the early morning of June 4, 1928, he blew up a train carrying Zhang Zuolin near Huanggutun on the South Manchuria Railway, causing the so-called Zhang Zuolin Explosion Incident. In July 1929, he was suspended as the ringleader of the incident, and after his retirement, he served as chairman of the Manchuria Coal Mining Company and president of Shanxi Industries. After the end of World War II, he was captured by the Chinese army and died of illness in the Taiyuan concentration camp.

陸軍軍人。 1903年陸軍士官学校,14年陸軍大学卒業後,支那公使館付武官補佐官,参謀本部支那班長などを歴任。 26年3月大佐に昇進,関東軍参謀となった。 28年6月4日早朝,満鉄のハンクートン (皇姑屯) 付近において張作霖乗車の列車を爆破,いわゆる張作霖爆死事件を引起した。 29年7月,事件首謀者として停職処分を受け,退役後は満州炭鉱株式会社理事長,山西産業社長などをつとめた。第2次世界大戦終了とともに,中国軍に捕えられ,太原収容所で病死。
