Ligor (English spelling)

Japanese: リゴール（英語表記）Ligor

A dialectal pronunciation of the Thai place name Nakhon used in Western books. Located on the east coast of the central Malay Peninsula, its official Thai name Nakhon Si Thammarat (also called Nagara Sridharmaraja) first appeared in the Ramakhamhaeng Stele of 1292. Tambulalingga (Chinese historical document, Danma Ling), a vassal state of the Srivijaya Kingdom on Sumatra, is believed to have been located in this area. In the 13th century, when the Thai state was established in Sukhothai, it became its tributary state, and when Ayutthaya also rose to power in the mid-14th century, it submitted to it and regularly sent gold and silver trees to the capital, Ayutthaya.

欧米人の著書に用いられるタイ語地名ナコーンNakhonの訛音。マレー半島中央部東海岸にあり，タイ語の正式名ナコーンシータマラートNakhon Si Thammarat(ナガラスリダルマラジャNagara Sridharmarajaとも呼ばれた)は，1292年の〈ラーマカムヘン王碑文〉に初出する。スマトラ島のスリウィジャヤ王国の属領のタンブラリンガ(中国史料の〈単馬令〉)はこの付近に比定されている。13世紀，スコータイにタイ族の国家が成立するとその朝貢国となり，14世紀中葉に同じくアユタヤが勃興するとこれに服属，首都アユタヤに金銀樹の定期的献送を行った。
