This newspaper was published in Korea from 1898 to 1910 by Independence Association members Namgung Gong, Na Suyeon, and Yu Kin, who obtained the publishing rights of the Daehan Hwangseong Shinmun. It was a four-page daily lithographically printed paper in a mixture of Hangul and Chinese. Later, Jang Ji-yeon, Shin Chae-ho, and Park Un-sik joined the newspaper, and it was ordered to cease publication for opposing the Eulsa Protectorate Treaty in 1895, and it had a strong anti-Japanese independence character.
