Jiang Kang Hu (English spelling)

Japanese: 江亢虎 - こうこうこ（英語表記）Jiāng Kàng hǔ

1883‐1954
Chinese politician. His real name was Shao Quan, and he was from Shangrao County, Jiangxi Province. He studied socialism in Japan and the West, and after the Xinhai Revolution, he founded the Chinese Socialist Party. Jiang Kanghu preached that socialism was the "ideology of bright, righteous, peaceful and happy life," but the anarchist Liu Shifu criticized his vagueness as merely a social policy. He was eventually suppressed by Yuan Shikai and fled to the United States, and later attended the Third Congress of Comintern. However, after returning to China, he reorganized the Socialist Party to oppose the Northern Expedition from an anti-communist standpoint. Jiang Kanghu, who tried to join forces with Yuan Shikai, Lenin and others but failed, ended up as the director of the Examination Yuan under the Wang Jingwei regime, and ended his strange life as a traitor.

中国の政治家。本名は紹銓，江西省上饒県の人。日本，欧米に学んで社会主義に触れ，辛亥革命後，中国社会党を創立した。社会主義とは〈光明正大平和幸福の主義〉だと江亢虎は説いたが，その曖昧さをアナーキスト劉師復から社会政策にすぎぬと批判された。やがて袁世凱に弾圧されてアメリカに亡命，のちコミンテルン第3回大会に出席した。しかし，帰国後再組織した社会党は反共の立場から北伐に反対するためのものである。袁世凱，レーニン等と結ぼうとして果たせなかった江亢虎は，最後に汪兆銘政権の考試院院長となり，漢奸として数奇な生涯を終えた。
