Houoka ruins (English name)

Japanese: 後岡遺跡 - こうこういせき（英語表記）Hoù gāng yí zhǐ

The site is located in the northwest of Anyang City, Henan Province, China, and is associated with the Yangshao culture, Longshan culture, and Yin dynasty. In 1931, Liang Siyong and others conducted two surveys, one in the spring and one in the autumn, and discovered the stratigraphy of the three cultures, which became the basis for the chronology of China's prehistoric period. A large Yin tomb was discovered in a survey in 1933, and in 1959, the site of a dwelling from the Yangshao culture, the site of a plaster-coated dwelling and kiln known as the white ash surface of the Longshan culture, and a circular pit tomb from the Yin dynasty where many people were buried with their dead. The Yangshao culture is similar in some respects to the Banpo type, but has its own unique features, such as painted pottery with simple linear patterns, which are understood to indicate regional differences and are a typical type of the Yangshao culture distributed from northern Henan to Hebei.

中国，河南省安陽市北西にある仰韶文化，竜山文化と殷代の遺跡。1931年春秋2回梁思永らの調査で3文化の層序が発見され中国先史時代の編年の基礎となった。以後，33年の調査で殷の大墓，また59年には仰韶文化の住居址，竜山文化の白灰面と称する漆喰塗の住居址と窯址，多数の人間を殉葬した殷代の円形土壙墓が発見された。仰韶文化の様相は，いくつかの点で半坡類型に類似するが，簡単な直線文の彩陶など独自のものがあり，地域差を示すものと理解され，河南北部から河北にかけて分布する仰韶文化の一標式となっている。
