An engine used to generate the power required for an aircraft to fly or soar. It is an internal combustion engine that utilizes the heat of combustion of fuel. There are two types of aircraft engines: shaft-powered engines, such as piston engines and turboprop engines, which extract power in the form of shaft power, and jet-powered engines (so-called jet engines), such as turbojet engines and turbofan engines, which draw air from the front and expel it to the rear as a high-speed jet, and extract power in the form of the increased kinetic energy that occurs when this happens.
