[Born] 1889 [Died] 1966 A shamisen player of Kiyomoto-bushi. The biological son of the second Kiyomoto Umeyoshi. His real name was Matsubara Seiichi. He took the name Umeyoshi in 1911. He became the shamisen player for the fifth Enjudayu, but in 1922 he had a falling out with Enjudayu, and separated from him to found the "Kiyomoto School" (commonly known as the "Umeyoshi School") and become the head of the school. In 1955 he became the second Jubei. He composed many works, including "Tsuyama no Tsuki," "Onatsu Kyoran," and "Maboroshi Oshichi."
