Kiyomoto Umekichi (3rd generation)

A shamisen player of Kiyomoto-bushi. The biological son of the second Kiyomoto Umeyoshi. His real name was Matsubara Seiichi. He took the name Umeyoshi in 1911. He became the shamisen player for the fifth Enjudayu, but in 1922 he had a falling out with Enjudayu, and separated from him to found the "Kiyomoto School" (commonly known as the "Umeyoshi School") and become the head of the school. In 1955 he became the second Jubei. He composed many works, including "Tsuyama no Tsuki," "Onatsu Kyoran," and "Maboroshi Oshichi."

清元節三味線方。2世清元梅吉の実子。本名松原清一。 1911年梅吉を襲名。5世延寿太夫の三味線方となったが，22年延寿太夫と不和になり，分離独立して「清元流」 (俗称「梅吉派」) を創設し家元となる。 55年，2世寿兵衛となる。『津山の月』『お夏狂乱』『幻お七』など，作曲多数。
