Brave. ※Azuma Kagami - Bunji 1 (1185) April 15 “In repeated battles, the heart is in armor.”※Heike (early 13th century) 8 “The armor that is heard is of great strength.”[2] An abbreviation of the place name “Kai (Kai).” [Additional note] The pronunciation is “kafu,” but in the case of the turtle’s shell and the shell of a claw, as in (1)②, it seems that it has been called “kofu” since ancient times, as can be seen in the “Wamyo-sho.” “Kanchi-in Honmyogishō” and “Iroha Jiruishō” also say “kofu.”

Kan [A]

〘noun〙 (The Japanese pronunciation of " kou ", some say it is a Tang pronunciation) In music, a high tone of sound or voice. Kou. ※Fukyokushu (around 1423) "Kou is the level of a yarigoe, and Otsu is about the level of a motsukoe." [Additional note] As a term in Japanese music, it is used in various ways. (1) Generally a high-pitched sound. (2) A sound one octave higher than the fundamental sound. (3) The part sung in a high range. (4) One of the key points of the shamisen. (5) A technique for playing the kotsuzumi drum.

かん【甲】

〘名〙 (「甲(こう)」の日本での慣用音、唐音とする説もある) 音楽で、音(ね)や声の高い調子。こう。※風曲集(1423頃)「甲はやる声の位、乙はもつこゑのくらゐなり」[補注]邦楽用語としては、いろいろに使われる。(1)一般に調子が高い音。(2)基本音に対して一オクターブ高い音。(3)高い音域で歌う部分。(4)三味線の勘所(かんどころ)の一つ。(5)小鼓(こつづみ)の奏法の一つ。

き‐の‐え【甲】

〘名〙 (木の兄(え)の意) 十干(じっかん)の第一。こう。※曾丹集(11C初か)「きのえ 双葉(ふたば)にてわがひき植ゑし松の木の枝さす春になりにけるかな」 〔名語記(1275)〕
