Primitive accumulation - the origin

Japanese: 原始的蓄積 - げんしてきちくせき

Primitive accumulation is a translation of the English term. In pre-capitalist societies, farmers and craftsmen were forced to have their land and tools taken away from them, and were turned into wage laborers. Capital was then accumulated, and capital was formed. Basically, wage laborers were created by the enclosure of farmers from their land, and capital was accumulated through the confiscation of common land and church lands, the slave trade, colonial policies, taxes, public debt systems, etc.

英語primitive accumulationなどの訳で，本源的蓄積とも。資本主義以前の社会において，農民や手工業者が土地や道具を強制的に取り上げられて賃金労働者になり，他方，資本が蓄積されて資本主義が形成されていく過程。基本的には農民の土地からの追出し（エンクロージャー）で賃金労働者がつくられ，共有地や教会領の没収，奴隷貿易，植民地政策，租税や公債制度等で資本が蓄積された。
