Birthing hut - Ubugoya

Japanese: 産小屋 - うぶごや

...a room or facility in which birth takes place. There are two types: special birthing huts and those in which birth takes place at home. Birthing huts are called debeya, taya, himaya, kariya, etc., and some also serve as menstruation huts.

…It is common to build huts for temporary work or to store materials, but mountain huts and dezukuri huts for mountain work and slash-and-burn farming in mountainous areas are places of residence for several months.
