Born on June 1, 1900. In 1926, he released the animation "The Thieves of Baguda Castle" using chiyogami paper. In 1927, his shadow puppet film "The Whale" received acclaim overseas. In 1956, he won a special prize at the Venice Documentary Film Festival for "Ghost Ship." He also received the Ofuji Award at the Mainichi Film Awards. He passed away on July 28, 1961.
