1593 (Bunroku 2)-? A haiku poet from the early Edo period. His surname was Takashima. He was from Yamada, Ise. He went to Edo around 1614 (Keicho 19) and worked for a merchant in Minami-Muromachi, Nihonbashi, but he loved learning and ended up working as a doctor and haiku poet. It is said that he was given a stipend for five people by Higo no Kami Hoshina Masayuki. Along with Tokugen, he was a leading figure in the Edo haiku world in its early days, and made a great contribution to the spread of Teimon haiku in the provinces. He died around 1674-77 (Enpo 2-5). 1593(文禄2)‐? 江戸前期の俳人。姓は高島。伊勢山田の人。1614年(慶長19)ごろ江戸に出て,日本橋南室町の商家に奉公したが,学問を好んで医と俳諧を業とするに至った。肥後守保科正之から五人扶持を賜ったとも伝える。徳元(とくげん)とともに草創期江戸俳壇の大立者で,貞門俳諧の地方普及に果たした功績は大きい。1674‐77(延宝2‐5)ごろ没。〈卯の花のおつるは風のおこり哉〉(《滑稽太平記》)。【乾 裕幸】 出典 株式会社平凡社世界大百科事典 第2版について 情報 |
