The cap is 5-15 cm in diameter, has a dry surface with radial fibrous patterns, and has yellow flesh and a very bitter taste. The gills are yellow to rust-colored. The stem is 5-15 cm long, 1-3 cm thick, and has a brim at the top. It grows from summer to autumn. It is found in Japan and other parts of the world.
