Japanese: 気高[町] - けたか

A former town in Kedaka District facing the Sea of Japan in eastern Tottori Prefecture. It has developed coastal sand dunes, and behind it is the reclaimed lowlands of the Kochi River and Hamamura River. The town is centered around Hamamura Onsen (radium-containing salt springs, 69°C), and is served by the San'in Main Line. It produces rice and fruit, and also engages in fishing. In November 2004, it was incorporated into Tottori City along with Kokufu Town and Fukube Village in Iwami District, Kawara Town, Mochigose Town, and Saji Village in Yazu District, Shikano Town in Kedaka District, and Aoya Town. 34.29 ^km2 . Population 10,090 (2003).

鳥取県東部，日本海に面する気高郡の旧町。海岸砂丘が発達，背後は河内(こうち)川と浜村川の埋積低地。中心は浜村温泉（ラジウム含有食塩泉など，69℃）の温泉町で，山陰本線が通じる。米，果樹を産し，漁業も行う。2004年11月岩美郡国府町，福部村，八頭郡河原町，用瀬町，佐治村，気高郡鹿野町，青谷町と鳥取市へ編入。34.29km²。１万90人（2003）。
