Ketaka [town] - Ketaka
A former town in Kedaka District facing the Sea of ​​Japan in eastern Tottori Prefecture. It has developed coastal sand dunes, and behind it is the reclaimed lowlands of the Kochi River and Hamamura River. The town is centered around Hamamura Onsen (radium-containing salt springs, 69°C), and is served by the San'in Main Line. It produces rice and fruit, and also engages in fishing. In November 2004, it was incorporated into Tottori City along with Kokufu Town and Fukube Village in Iwami District, Kawara Town, Mochigose Town, and Saji Village in Yazu District, Shikano Town in Kedaka District, and Aoya Town. 34.29 km2 . Population 10,090 (2003).
