Geino [town] - Geino

Japanese: 芸濃[町] - げいのう

A former town in Aki-gun in northern Mie prefecture. The eastern part is the Ise Plain, and the western part is the eastern foot of the Nunobiki Mountains. It produces strawberries, cabbages, and other crops. There is a large muku tree (a natural monument) in Mukumoto. The Ise Expressway runs through the town. In January 2006, it was incorporated into Tsu city along with Hisai city, Aki-gun Kawage town, Ano town, Misato village, Ichishi-gun Ichishi town, Karasu town, Hakusan town, and Misugi village. 64.57 ^km2 . 8,786 people (2003).
