A feudal lord in the early modern period. He was a vassal of the Tokugawa family in Kofu, but during the time of Akifusa, he became a shogunate official as an aide to Tsunatoyo (Shogun Ienobu). He was given several increases in his stipend, and in 1706 (Hoei 3), he became a daimyo with 10,000 koku of rice and was ranked as a wakadoshiyori. He was further promoted to chamberlain, and his stipend was increased three times, giving him the right to 50,000 koku of rice in Takasaki, Kozuke. However, after Akifusa was dismissed, he was transferred to Murakami, Echigo in 17 (Kyoho 2). In 1820, his younger brother Akitoki, who inherited his estate, was transferred to Sabae, Echizen. Also, Akikatsu, a senior councilor at the end of the Edo period, was reduced to 40,000 koku in 1862 (Bunkyu 2) due to his mismanagement during his term of office.
