Jing Xu Shulin - Keijo Shulin

A Rinzai sect monk of the Muso school who is representative of Gozan literature in the late Muromachi period. He was also known as Han'in, Gichiku, and Taisho. He entered Shokoku-ji Temple at the age of five, and became a disciple of Yodo Chuzai, later succeeding him as a monk. After passing through Keitoku-ji Temple, Toji-ji Temple, and other temples, he entered Shokoku-ji Temple on March 23, 1495 (Meiō 4), and in February of the following year, 1496, he moved to Rokuon-in Temple at Shokoku-ji Temple, where he was in charge of the monks' register. He passed away on March 2, Eishō 15, at Gichiku-ken in Jisho-in Temple at Shokoku-ji Temple. His collection of poetry and prose is the 17 volumes of the "Kanrin Koroshu", and his diaries include "Tojiji Nikkei", "Nichiyo Zanmai", "Nishoki", and "Nikken" (collected in the "Rokuon Nichiroku").

室町後期五山文学を代表する臨済宗夢窓(りんざいしゅうむそう)派の僧。半隠(はんいん)、宜竹(ぎちく)、対松(たいしょう)とも号す。5歳にして相国寺(しょうこくじ)に入り、用堂中材(ようどうちゅうざい)に参じ、のちに嗣法した。景徳寺(けいとくじ)、等持寺(とうじじ)などを経て、1495年(明応4)3月23日相国寺に入寺し、翌1496年2月相国寺鹿苑院(ろくおんいん)に移って僧録を司(つかさど)った。永正(えいしょう)15年3月2日相国寺慈照院(じしょういん)の宜竹軒にて示寂。詩文集として『翰林葫蘆集(かんりんころしゅう)』17巻、日記として『等持寺日件』『日用三昧(にちようざんまい)』『日渉記(にっしょうき)』『日件(にっけん)』(『鹿苑日録(ろくおんにちろく)』所収)など。
