...After the Kamakura Shogunate was established, metal foundries of this lineage settled in Sagami and Kazusa. The activities of these Kawachi metal foundries extended from Satsuma to Hitachi, and if those who settled in Sagami and Kazusa are also included, over 80% of temple bells made in the 12th and 13th centuries were made by Kawachi metal foundries. Metal foundries also appeared in other areas, including Yamato, Kyoto, Dazaifu, Ashiya (Chikuzen), Mihara (Bingo), Fuchu (Nagato), and Tenmei (Shimotsuke).
