The expansion of a company's business activities into a wide variety of fields. Diversification can be classified into the following types: core business type, which has one business field that can be called the main business but has some diversification; related type, which does not have a business that can be called the main business but has many businesses that are related to each other in terms of technology or markets; and unrelated type, which has little relationship between businesses, such as conglomerates. Benefits of diversification include risk dispersion and effective use of management resources.
