1878‐1956 Polish philosopher and logician. In Polish, his name is Łukasiewicz. After obtaining his doctorate under Kazimierz Twardowski (1866-1938), he was a professor at the University of Warsaw between the two world wars and was the leader of the so-called Polish School. He also participated in the education administration immediately after World War I. After World War II, he studied in Dublin. He made many pioneering achievements in the fields of propositional logic, including multi-valued logic, the modern formulation of syllogisms, and the history of logic, which is closely related to these.
