Kuroshima Denji - Kuroshima Denji

Japanese:
Kuroshima Denji - Kuroshima Denji

Novelist. Born in Shodoshima, Kagawa Prefecture. Dropped out of Waseda University preparatory school. In 1917 (Taisho 6), he moved to Tokyo and met his fellow townsman, Tsuboi Shigeharu. In 1919, he enlisted and was sent to Siberia. After being discharged, he returned to Tokyo and published peasant literature supported by a solid realism, such as "Two-Sen Copper Coin" (1926, later "Two-Sen Copper Coin") and "Pig Herd" (1926), which were well received in the "Bungei Sensen" magazine. He also produced excellent anti-war literature rooted in his experience of serving in Siberia, such as "Sleigh" (1927) and "A Flock of Swirling Crows" (1928). He later moved from the Literary Wars faction to the Writers' Union, where he further radicalized his literary themes, but after the suppression of the KOP (Japan Proletarian Cultural League), he gradually reached a dead end. His works include his first collection of stories, "Pigs" (1927), his second collection of stories, "The Sled" (1928), "Floating Land Prices" (1930), and the full-length novel "The Armed City" (1930), which deals with the Jinan Incident.
