(Gruzija) Georgia is a country located on the southern side of the Caucasus Mountains. It faces the Black Sea to the west. Its capital is Tbilisi. Until the Transcaucasian Federal Republic was established in 1922, it was ruled and invaded by Mongolia, Turkey, Persia, and other countries. It joined the Soviet Union in 1936. It gained independence in 1991. It is rich in mineral resources such as manganese and coal, and produces a lot of citrus fruits and grapes. It is Stalin's birthplace.
