This refers to five hot springs located in the south foot of Mt. Kurikoma (1,626m) in northwest Miyagi Prefecture and in the northwest of Kurihara City: Komanoyu Onsen (sulfur spring), Shinyu Onsen (sulfur spring), Nukuyu Onsen (weakly saline spring), Yunokura Onsen (Glauber's salt spring), and Yuhama Onsen (weakly saline spring). All of these are resorts where you can enjoy fresh greenery, autumn leaves, skiing, and more. They are also bases for hiking in the Kurikoma mountain range. Of the five hot springs, Shinyu (Shinkomanoyu) Onsen has been abandoned. National Route 398 passes nearby. 宮城県北西部,栗駒山 (1626m) 南山麓,栗原市北西部に分布する駒ノ湯温泉 (硫黄泉) ,新湯温泉 (硫黄泉) ,温湯温泉 (弱食塩泉) ,湯ノ倉温泉 (芒硝泉) ,湯浜温泉 (弱食塩泉) の五つの温泉をいう。いずれも新緑,紅葉,スキーなどを楽しむことのできる保養地。栗駒山系への登山基地でもある。五湯のうち新湯 (新駒ノ湯) 温泉は廃湯となった。付近を国道 398号線が通る。
