Born: February 24, 1771, Mannheim
[Died] April 16, 1858. London. Born in Germany, he was a pianist and educator who was active in England. He was a pupil of M. Clementi. He was an excellent piano teacher and left behind many practice pieces, including the "Grosse praktische Piano-Schule", a collection of piano exercises that is still used today.

German theologian and poet. Born to a pastor, he became involved in a magazine and then became a priest. He became a professor of theology at the University of Copenhagen. He was later expelled from the university and became a professor at the University of Kiel. He is known for his Collected Poems (3 volumes, 1782-83).

Born July 12, 1924 in Stettin, Germany. German poet and novelist. In addition to the novel San Silverio (1955), he also wrote many opera librettos.
