Firth of Clyde
A bay in southwest Scotland, UK. Tectonically, it is part of a faulted rift zone, and refers to the water area of ​​about 100 km long, downstream of Dumbarton, which is connected to the mouth of the Clyde River, surrounded by the Scottish mainland and the Kintyre Peninsula, and opens into the North Channel to the south, including the Strait of Bute, Kilbrannan Sound, and fjords such as Loch Long and Loch Fyne. Large islands such as Bute and Arran lie within the bay, and the small island of Ayrsacraig lies near the center of the mouth of the bay. Port Glasgow, Greenock, Ardrossan, Ayr, and Girvan are ports on the mainland coast.
