〘名〙① 田の面積に応じて、本租のほかに加徴した税米。※山科家礼記‐長祿元年(1457)一二月二五日「すかのうらより上候年貢〈略〉口米三〈たわら。口米は浦松殿ふん也〉」② 江戸時代の租税の一種。年貢高に応じて一定の比率で徴収する米。代官所に諸経費として支給されていたが、享保年間幕庫に収めることになった。※禁令考‐前集・第四・巻三五・享保一〇年(1725)九月「口米相止諸入用被下候に付御勘定奉行より御代官え申渡候書付」③ 見本として俵から抜き取られる米。転じて、見本の意にも用いられる。※滑稽本・続膝栗毛(1810‐22)七「おさだまりの口米(クチマイ)ながら、美登野宿から贄川まで、おったておったて筆の鞭」
