Japanese: 伝奇作書 - でんきさくしょ

Kabuki and Joruri materials. Written by Nishizawa Ippo. 21 volumes in 7 manuscripts. The first volume is also called Genkyo Sakusho, a play on the Genko Shakusho. The first volume has a preface from 1843 (Tenpo 14), and the additional volume has a postscript from 1851 (Kaei 4), so it is thought that it was gradually completed over this period. The contents are miscellaneous, including biographies of Kabuki and Joruri authors, Kyogen scripts, commentary, and factual research, as well as playwriting methods, actor anecdotes, and copies of old books. The author is a Kyogen author from a theater book publisher, and this book is supported by his abundant materials and real-life experiences.

歌舞伎，浄瑠璃資料。西沢一鳳（いつぽう）著。写本7編21巻。初編は《元亨釈書（げんこうしやくしよ）》をもじり《言狂作書》ともいう。初編に1843年(天保14)の自序，追加編に1851年(嘉永4)の跋があるので，およそこの間に徐々に書きつがれて成立したものと思われる。内容は，歌舞伎，浄瑠璃の作者の伝記をはじめ，狂言の筋書，評釈，実説考証，さらに作劇方法や役者の逸話，古書の写しと雑多におよぶ。作者は演劇書書肆出身の狂言作者で，本書はその豊富な資料と実体験に支えられて成っている。
