Quadrilogue invectif (English spelling)

...After graduating from the University of Paris, he followed the Dauphin to Paris when the Burgundians seized control of the city on September 16, 1418. He served as secretary to the "King of Bourges" (nickname for Charles VII) for the next ten years. He traveled as the king's emissary to the Holy Roman Empire, the Republic of Venice, the Kingdom of Scotland, and other places. He prevented foreign intervention in the civil war and maintained the balance of power, while at home he published a series of propaganda articles in Latin defending the new king's position. In his French prose work, "Quadrilogue invectif" (1422), he sharply pursued the responsibility of each level of society for the war, which earned him the title of "Father of French Eloquence." In "Belle dame sans merci" (1424), he introduced an independent woman, which caused controversy and made him the most famous poet, and for the next half century, he influenced all poets. In his later years, he wrote the extremely introspective and dark "Livre de l'espérance" (1429), and his last work was a letter informing a foreign king of the emergence of Joan of Arc.
