Leader of the Vietnam National Party and leader of the Yen Bai Uprising. Born in Binh Yen Province in northern Vietnam, he studied at the Nam Tong School in Hanoi (a private school centered on Sun Yat-sen ideology, founded in 1925 by Pham Tuan Thai and others), where he became interested in the national movement. He proposed to the then French Governor-General of Indochina, Varennes, to improve working conditions for Vietnamese workers, expand the education system, and publish a public relations magazine, but was rejected. As a result, he decided to pursue independence through force, and founded the Vietnam National Party in 1927, becoming its leader.

ベトナム国民党の領袖で，イェンバイ蜂起の指導者。北部ベトナム，ビンイェン省に生まれ，ハノイの南同書舎(1925年ファム･トゥアン･タイら設立の孫文主義を中心とする私塾)に学んで，民族運動に覚醒する。当時のフランス領インドシナ総督バレンヌにベトナム人労働者の労働条件の改善，教育制度の拡充，広報雑誌発行を建議して入れられず，このため実力による独立路線を決意，1927年ベトナム国民党を設立し，自ら党首となる。
